Advocate | Leader | Stroke Survivor

I am honored to be a recipient of the Stroke Foundation’s Future Leaders Grant – Lived Experience, a program dedicated to empowering advocates who drive change in stroke care and disability rights. My journey as a stroke survivor has fueled my passion for leadership, research, and advocacy, ensuring that the voices of those with lived experience are heard and valued.

As part of this incredible opportunity, I will be attending the Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP) 2025 at the United Nations in New York. This global event brings together leaders, policymakers, and advocates to shape policies that advance accessibility, inclusion, and healthcare equity.

I am privileged to be mentored by Professor Julie Bernhardt and Professor Vincent Thijs from the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Australia’s leading stroke research center. With over two decades of involvement, I work to bridge the gap between research and real-life stroke recovery, ensuring that lived experience is at the forefront of change.
